Jasper was a very special bun, a stunning agouti butterfly bred by kevin and louise wakefield, the first mini lop that really stole my heart and got me hooked, during his career jasper took an amazing 3 best lops and 8 best of breeds plus over 80*s. We sadly lost jasper far too soon, and i vowed that i would never let his legacy die out... on this page i am charting the progress of the jasper line here at moorcroft (however a very close friend of mine is also working with some of jasper's decendants so hopefully i'll be able to add some more of these into my line again in the future)
I choose a stunning typey, extreemly fit doe to be jasper's breeding partner, cookie is a beautiful black butterfly doe...
Generation 2Jasper and cookie produced 3 beautiful litters...
From these litters i decided to retain a beautifully marked and stunning typed orange butterfly doe 'amber' and a gorgeous small typey agouti butterfly buck 'casper'
Generation 3Sadly after 3 years of trying amber failed to produce a litter so was retired without any offspring... and casper at age 2 had only produced a single baby, i was beginning to worry about damaging recessives so i mated casper back to his mother cookie, to ensure the line was fit an healthy... they produce a beautiful, healthy and wonderful baby who i retained here... meet Felix a gorgeous sooty fawn charlie CASHMERE doe... i discovered cookie had been hiding cashmere all along, however i must now try to breed this recessive out as i do not want the added problems that long haired rabbits bring.
However the story doesnt stop here are two other very stunning jasper gransons around (living with my very good friend ann) Davros is a beautiful opal buck bred out of lola (the agouti butterfly doe from jasper and cookies first litter, sister to amber), davros is a beauitful buck and somehow doesnt seem to be affected by the lack of hormones in this line and is already starting to spread his seed... and tardis a beautiful black buck also bred from lola, neither of these boys live here with me but i've included them here as i plan to bring back some of their offspring to help me 'restart' my line.
