The price of mitten's bedding has skyrocketed over the last few months, so i've decided to trial her on some alternatives to see if i can save a bit of money (because £40 a clean out for the hamster is a bit much i thinks)...
Here's mittens in her 'clean out cage' would you believe these are actually sold for hamsters to live in.... i couldnt believe it either (it's smaller than an A4 piece of paper in its dimensions), I got this one given as a lady decided that her 'guinea pig' had outgrown it... seriously, she got a nice indoor guinea pig cage from me and mittens got this as a new transport cage.
There it is on top of her normal cage.... its teeny... anyway onto her cage, she's got 4 kinds of bedding in there at the moment (from left to right) fitch, birch bark, back2nature and megazorb... plus some hay to help her build tunnels, the bedding's not as deep as I'd like but it's just for the duration of the experiement and she can still tunnel.
Mittens say Helllllllllllllllllllllllllllllloooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
And here's the girl herself :) testing out the megazorb section of the cage....
